Athens sweetheart Madeline released her latest, Black Velvet, June 21 on new hometown label This Will Be Our Summer. Inspired by Neil Young producer David Briggs’ work, Madeline and backing ensemble Black Velvet Band followed the strategy of On The Beach and Tonight’s the Night—recording whenever and wherever they could find a couple of microphones, and focusing on capturing the energy of a live show.
