Celebrating Georgia’s legends, landmarks and unsung heroes

Blues Concert Benefits Chick Willis

Culloden, Ga. blues pioneer Robert “Chick” Willis has been the recipient of dozens of national awards, toured as a singer and guitarist for decades and once served as sideman to legendary slide guitarist Elmore James, but he is perhaps best known for his risqué song, “Stoop Down Baby.” Today, Willis is battling cancer and friends and musicians will gather at Northside Tavern in Atlanta on Sun. Dec. 23 to pay tribute and raise money for his medical bills. Tony Bryant, Nate Nelson, Jack Leg Preacher, Bill Sheffield, Mudcat, Elliot Holden Band, SaNa Blue Band, Eddie Tigner, Sammy Blue and many more will participate in the day of music beginning at 12 p.m.  Come by with your $10 donation and do your part to make the holidays a little brighter for one of Georgia’s own.
